Guiding Principles: Acting in the best interests ofchildren. Support for families. Respect for the values and cultures offamilies. Appropriate input from children. Appropriate involvement ofchildren.
A Message to Our Community The year 2004 has been a busy year for the Saskatoon Preschool Foundation and its volunteer Board ofDirectors. We again have had an increase in the number offamilies who have applied for preschool tuition subsidy assistance. As a result we have been able to provide financial assistance enabling 111 children to attend preschool at a cost ofover $34,000. Your donations have made this possible. Thank you! A survey ofthe 90 preschool organizations in the Saskatoon area showed that about one-halfof preschool-aged children are in preschool. We promoted the Foundation at community functions and to various agencies as we continue to make more people aware ofour programs and the importance ofpreschool for the young children of our community. On the business side, the Foundation made a number ofchanges. Our invested funds are being managed by Connor, Clark & Lunn an associate ofGreystone Investments. The Foundation now manages credit card donations by electronic deposit. We are pleased that donors can now donate to the Foundation on a regular basis through a pre- authorized debit process. The Saskatoon Preschool Foundation is meeting a need in our community. The many donors and partners listed later in this report continue to be very important to the Foundation.
