Note 1: Awards will be given out within 1 hour of each categories completion for the Masters Divisions throughout
both days of competition.
Note 2: Competitors will not be allowed to check their weight on official scale during weigh in times, however, an
unofficial scale will be available for the purpose of checking weight.
Note 3: A meeting will be held at 8:00 pm at the Marriott headquarter hotel prior to the day of Masters
Competition in event that any divisions must be combined. All competitors must be present and consent to changes
in categories.

Masters Technical Information- 2007 U.S. Open Judo Championships

October 20, 2007 from 2:00-4:00 pm) Cost Per Participant: Competition Early Entry Fee is $75.00 if submitted by October 1 . Late fees will be $85.00 if submitted by October 10. Walk up fees will be $95.00. The camp will not
include masters but will be geared toward Senior & Junior level elite athletes. Insurance: USA Judo declines all responsibility in these matters. All competitors must be
members in good standing of USA Judo and possess a current USA Judo card. Cards
may be purchased at the event for $50. Entry Deadline: Entry form and fees must be submitted no later than October 1, 2007 or a late fee will
be charged. Please DO NOT send anything after October 10, 2007. After October

competitors. Transportation is not provided between the airport and the hotel. For the
most cost effective route take the MARTA rail (located by baggage claim) to the
Doraville Station ($1.75 fare) and call Yellow Cab at 404.316.9022 ($10-$15) for transport to hotel. Rules: The Masters Competition will be conducted in accordance with the Contest Rules,
Organization Code and Sporting Code of the International Judo Federation with the
following modifications: Match lengths will be 3 minutes for both men and women with
the exception of competitors over 60 years of age who will have 2 ½ minute matches.
Weigh-ins will be in accordance with the schedule included in this package Match
Lengths: 3 minutes for men and women under 60 years of age; Over 60 years of
age: 2 ½ minutes. Masters may compete in only one weight division. Method of
resolving uncontested Masters divisions: In the event that a Masters competitor is
uncontested in his or her division, the following options are available, beginning with
the oldest uncontested competitor and progressing to the youngest. 1. Remain
uncontested. 2. Move down in age group, same weight until competition is found, OR
3. If an uncontested competitor must move down more than one age group in order to
find competition, he or she may choose to move up in weight within their proper age
group. Judogi: The use of blue Judogi IS NOT REQUIRED for Masters Competitors Mandatory Masters
Meeting: A meeting will be held at 8:00 pm on the night prior to Masters Competition to review
the categories of competition for the upcoming day with the goal of combining
uncontested divisions and assuring all competitors have matches. See schedule for
location. All competitors must be present.

Norcross Hotel tournament headquarters on each day in order to combine competition divisions if needed. The
tournament director reserves the right to finalize all divisions. The Tournament Director reserves the right to
make all final decisions regarding the 2007 U.S. Open and all items related to the event.

Championships and related events and activities of United States Judo, Inc. (dba USA Judo), I hereby:
1. Acknowledge that I am familiar with the sport of Judo and understand the rules governing the sport of Judo.
2. Agree that prior to participating, I will inspect the mats, equipment, facilities, competition pools or divisions and thee
limination or scoring system to be used, and if I believe anything is unsafe or beyond my capability, I will immediately
advise my coach, supervisor, and/or a tournament official of such conditions and refuse to participate.3. Acknowledge and
fully understand that I will be engaging in a contact sport that might result in serious injury, including permanent
disability or death, and severe social and economic losses due to not only my own actions, inactions, or negligence, but
also to the actions, inactions, or negligence of others, the rules of the sport of Judo, or conditions of the premises or of any
equipment used. Further, I acknowledge that there may be other risks not known to me or not reasonably foreseeable at
this time.4. Knowing the risks involved in the sport of Judo, I assume all such risks and accept personal responsibility for
the damages following such injury, permanent disability, or death. 5. Release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue
the United States Judo, Inc. (dba USA Judo), the United States Olympic Committee, Atlanta State Judo, Gwinnett

2007 U.S. Open Judo Championships Masters Competitor Check List DO NOT MAIL THIS PAGE, KEEP FOR CONTACT REFERENCES To assure that the requirements for participation in the Championships have been fulfilled, the following forms
must be completed, postmarked by the dates listed below, and sent to the address printed at the bottom of this
page. Official Entry Form and Entry Fee: Competition Early Entry Fee is $75.00 per participant if submitted by
October 1, 2007. Late fees will be $85.00 if submitted between October 2 -10, 2007. DO NOT MAIL ANYTHING AFTER OCTOBER 10, 2007. Walk up fees will be $95.00 at the tournament registration. There

Copy of current USA Judo (USJI) membership card. If you do not have an entry form you may purchase
this at the event. Please indicate the intent to purchase on your entry form.
Warning, Waiver, Release of Liability and Agreement to Participate.
Proof of Age: Copy of birth certificate, passport, or USJI membership card having the verification symbol “(V)”
printed following the birthdate. A driver’s license is not proof of age!
Proof of Black Belt Rank: Copy of rank certificate, OR, A copy of your current USA Judo (USJI) membership
card having the rank verification symbol “(V)” printed following the rank will serve as proof. In addition, rank
cards issued by the USJF or USJA National Offices will serve as proof. .

Request for Brown Belt Waiver to Compete: For non black belt competitors only. Must be faxed to Sherrie

INCOMPLETE FORMS WILL BE CONSIDERED LATE ENTRIES AND WILL BE SUBJECT TO FEES.
During Tournament Check-in, all late or incomplete registrations will be required to properly complete all forms
and pay the appropriate fees. All required forms must be properly completed and signed and the appropriate
entry fees paid regardless of when the player registers.

Unofficial Weigh-in: Scales will be available for unofficial weigh-in starting prior to the start of official weigh-in.
Location and times will be posted at Tournament Headquarters. Contestants may check weights as many
times as desired during this period. At OFFICIAL WEIGH-IN, competitors must present their tournament- issued identification card AND a photo ID.
